API

Everything on this site is available as JSON. The API is read-only, needs no key, allows cross-origin requests and caches responses for an hour. Every response is an envelope: { data, meta }, where meta carries totals, paging and notes about the data. The OpenAPI description is at /api/v1/openapi.

Conventions

Seasons are written 2024-25 and run August to July. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD.
Lists page with limit and offset; meta.total is the full count.
Two snowfall numbers exist and are not comparable: total_snowfall_in is resort-reported, modeled_snowfall_in is ERA5 reanalysis and runs well below it.
Lift and trail geometry is omitted unless geometry=1; coordinates are [lat, lon] pairs.
Alpine listings exclude lost areas and nordic centers unless asked (include_lost=1, kind=nordic).
Errors are JSON: { error: { status, message } }.

Data is collected from public sources under their terms: OpenStreetMap (ODbL), Wikipedia (CC BY-SA), Open-Meteo (CC BY), plus resort websites, OnTheSnow, the Internet Archive and NELSAP. Please attribute newenglandskidata.com and the underlying sources.
